Rushing a fraternity is a very special time in your college career. You get to visit many well-organized groups of the closest friends you will likely ever see in your life and get the chance to truly become a part of something larger than anything you can ever imagine before. As you visit these organizations, remember that all of the guys you meet will become your Brothers; the closest type of friendship most men ever experience.
The University of La Verne Cal Upsilon chapter of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity holds a strict no hazing policy. We know that hazing is unpleasant, since we didn't have to go through it, we think that you shouldn't have to, either.
After you decide to join our chapter, you will participate in a Formal Pledging ceremony, which is part of our Ritual: the most sacred part of our Fraternity. This begins your pledgeship process: a time for you to try out the Fraternity and make sure that you can fit in; it's also a time for us to try you out and make sure you're able to be a good brother. A pledge education process helps you to understand what it means to be an SAE and what it takes to be a contributing brother in the chapter. Once this pledge process is completed, you are ready to become a full Brother in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. |
